Deleting a project in Ollert also destroys other data, which most users aren’t aware of.

Feature info and requirements

Data that will be lost when a user deletes a project: all tasks related solely to the project, all reports created to track the project, and custom rules linked solely to this project.
The hierarchy is: teams > projects > tasks, so deleting a project should be medium friction. Stronger than deleting a task, but less than deleting a team.
There is no project history and the action cannot be undone once it’s been executed.

Create the pop-up for this destructive delete feature.

Points to think about:

Users must understand all of the data that will be lost before taking this action.
People don’t like jokes when it comes to serious actions.

This pop-up does not exist yet, so you need to write and mock it up on your own.

Solution

The button text should answer the title directly. A checkbox confirms understanding. Writing in the first-person mimics the user reading it to themselves to ensure they’ve understood the consequence directly.

Stylised bullet points and then emphasising “This cannot be undone!” in bold underneath makes it crystal clear that consideration needs to be given before deleting.
